They really changed the story for the program. Grendel's not stealthy at all, it's just his victims tended to pass out from drinking and it never occurred to any of the Danes within the last 12 years to, y'know, STAY AWAKE to keep an eye out for the monster.

@13BlueCrimson the way i understand is that some depictions say that his father is cain (son of adam) whilst others say his father is king hrothgar who impregnated grendel's mother in return for peace to his kingdom.
