Ribal Al-Assad (born in 1975) is the Founder and Director of the Organisation for Democracy and Freedom in Syria. Being the cousin of the current Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad, he coevally belongs to the most renowned critics of the regime, demanding democracy, freedom and human rights in the country. Living in western exile since his childhood, Al-Assad is also Chairman of the Iman Foundation, which promotes dialogue to strengthen international understanding and peaceful coexistence through the exchange of ideas, people, culture, as well as religion. In this capacity, he helped facilitating a rapprochement between the Alawite and the Sunni Muslims in North Lebanon. Ribal Al-Assad was educated at Boston University and holds a degree in business studies from the Inter-American University in New York.

  • the right story

  • You people so fucking gullible.

Ribal Al-Assad is the son of Rifaat al-Assad (brother to President al-Assad, former police chief/torturer of Syria and butcher of Hama), who was kicked out of Syria after a failed coup against his brother.

Do you really think that he would be preaching democracy if his father's coup attempt succeeded and his branch of the family was on the Syrian throne?? Wake up and smell the fucking coffee.

  • i'm sorry, what did he say about the united states of america?i keep trying to hear that part but i'm not catching it.

  • well he says it doesn't make sense for dictatorships to get involved in other Arab countries and he mentions the example of Iran getting involved in Yemen (which I doubt) and Bahrain (while not mentioning Saudi), and in FACT the question was about Qatar's involvement .. just say it as it is dude, ALL monarchies in the Gulf are not democratic, not elected and not constitutionalized .. I think a director of an org for democracy can do better !

  • اسد ابن اسد يا ريبال كن مع الحق ولا تبالي

  • ريبال الاسد قنديل يضيء طريق الحرية
