The bass part is shown with my 2006 Tobias Killer-B 4-string bass. The song "Valley Girl" by Frank Zappa from the Ship Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch Album. THIS VIDEO IS FOR TUTORIAL REASONS ONLY. IT IS A DEMONSTRATION OF HOW TO GET THE PROPER SOUND FOR THE SONG STATED ABOVE. AND THERE SHOULD BE NO LEGAL REASON FOR THIS VIDEO TO BE REMOVED AS IT WAS SINCE IT IS PROTECTED BY THE "FAIR USE" COPYRIGHT LAW AS STATED IN THE BEGINNING OF THIS DESCRIPTION.

The skill level of this song is about a 6 on a scale of 1-10. I've made a few minor enhancements using the tone controls on the bass to INCREASE the mids as the original bass part was recorded. I also am using a Genz-Benz NEOX400 2x10 combo. This combo amp has TWO independent input sections - one tube the other FET. I have the tube cranked to slightly distort, then blend in the FET side to provide the punch and overall clarity of the full sonic spectrum. THIS is MY attempt at instructing anyone who might wish to recreate the bass track for this song. I hope the lesson helps as well as being some fun.
