it's actually a movie to introduce some philosophy thinking by means of comedy, with a lot of easy reference (old movies/ mr. bean) to make this more easy for the mass to understand.
the Indian background is just a base to develop the story. as if this is taken place in any other places, the theme still works. there might be some jokes on communication problem and culture difference between chinese and indians, but i am sure that is not trying to insult any indians.
