The human brain contains over 100 billion neurons, and roughly 1 quintillion synapses. But how did it all get started? How did the first nervous systems, the first brains evolve? How did a bunch of simple cells evolve into a biological computer?

And remember to always Think about it.
This is definitely a video I will have to watch 7 or 8 times to let it sink in. It makes sense why a brain would evolve. Anything that helps an organism survive and pass on it's genes would be highly favored by the evolutionary process and having a nervous system that functions better than your competitor's nervous system would mean you would be able to outcompete them and reproduce more than they could. Therefore nervous systems would get more complex over time.

100 billion neurons, wow! that's 1/2 the number of stars in the milky way galaxy. so Imagine one neuron as just our sun in this vast galaxy and that's the equivalent of two neurons.
