I think lots of poems were turned into songs. I don't know what that has to do with my opinion that people shouldn't take OUR National Song and butcher it to their own way with the way they want to sing it. The person singing this song is supposed to LEAD us all in the singing of OUR National Anthem. They are not trying to entertain us with their inability to hit the notes as they were intended when the poem was converted to song. So if you can't sing it right. Then don't try to lead us in it.

It got turned into a song, and there have been many different interpretations, even one by Jimi Hendrix. That’s Christina’s style.
