hmm i think it isnt only ssd its cpu ram etc for a fast loading :P

@darthirakli It depends on what your playing. arma 2 for example will be much smoother stutter wise with an ssd. FSX for example will even get a decent fps boost on some setups with a faster drive. But most things it doesn't matter (other than loading speed of course.)

Pretty sure only loading a level should really be impacted by an ssd

IMO, gaming performance is mostly limited by CPU, RAM and graphics card chip performance, NOT hard drive speed.

@snowman4839, so? i'm sure a 7,200 rpm drive can do less than 40 seconds. shit some 10,000 can even do 40 seconds with the wrong equipment
