The fourth step of the one-handed backhand progressions is to add a loop to your motion. To do so we're going to take a step back and start from a position very similar to the racket-back position from step two. The only difference is that the tennis racket will be angled up slightly. Perhaps 45 degrees or so.

  • Dear Will,

why do you have to add a loop to your groundstrokes? does it make it more powerful or what?

  • But Will, don't mind me asking....but what exactly is the use of this loop...What difference does it bring to the game we would play without the loop?

  • Around 1:58 seems to be easy...

  • Who is the tallest Tennis player?

  • there is NO loop!! it is high takeback and swing!!! tink better to teach WHOLE ting properly talented players backsteps progression MO GOOD! otherwise bad habbits creep in ---

  • In fairness i believe that he never mentioned why as its so obvious why you would add it. He also never mentioned why you have to hold the racket.

  • Is it important to add a loop.

  • yes creates more momentum and power. especially if you're a behind-the-baseline player.

  • momentum probably
