6'2 215 pounds. Can play the run like a linebacker but has is fluid in coverage like a top free safety. Very athletic and great at diagnosing the play. Had 10 pass break ups this year and rarely let a pass be completed to whoever he was covering along with 90 tackles and a forced fumble. 91 tackles his junior year along with 7 interceptions and 7 passes broken up.

19 tackles for a loss for his career and 30 passes broken up. Played first two years as a linebacker

umm, did you see the hit he put on megatron? yes he does knock peoples heads off. According to the advanced stats, he is not only the best rookie safety, but in the top 10 of starting safties in the league

yeah right, Mark Barron has been limited as more of in the box type safety while Harrison is a guy that can both play the run and be a great centerfielder, they call him the eraser, he makes up for other dbs mistakes, does Mark do that? no, does Mark have 3 interceptions, 2 going for tds? no. Smith has more pass deflections, both have a forced fumble, Harrison has a fumble recovery and a sack. Barron has a few more tackles, because they asked him to be in the box more. Smith all the way

his four misses make him one of the 10 most efficient tackling safeties in the passing game. His 147 yards allowed after contact puts him fifth in the league, which demonstrates how much of a sure tackler he has been when the ball comes his way through the air. His efficiency is impressive, but the volume of tackles he racked-up is more so, given that he is not frequently targeted.

Quarterbacks threw in Smith’s direction once every 18.3 snaps in 2012, which is the 15th-lowest target rate among safeties. There’s a good reason for that relatively low figure. Of Smith’s 34 targets in coverage, he batted away 11 of those passes, which is just one reason quarterbacks haven’t been too keen to challenge him this year. Even that may be an understatement, though. As it turns out, there aren’t even a handful of safeties who allow receptions with less frequency than Smith

Mark Barron is a scrub compared to this beast. Megatron is STILL feeling that hit.

he's actually doing great, RIGHT NOW. They call him the "ERASER" because not only does he make plays on his side where he is supposed to be by scheme, he makes plays that other dbs messed up on preventing many big plays, hence the term eraser, erases mistakes that should have happened by other defenders. Tony Dungy came up with this term a while back.

I agree. I think the Eraser sounds weak.
