Do not use rust oleum for rim painting.. Chips too easy

I would recommend using a razor blade an slowly cut the adhesive to remove the wrapping.

Where can you get new air holes to replace the ones you destroy?

you can get them from Fastenal stores. They'll probably have to order them for you. They're called grommets.
