even if you tried, the air pressure would keep the door flush with the door.

@EinkOLED I don't understand, why would the emergency overwing exit be automatically locked when the cabin is unpressurized? Wouldn't the only circumstance for using the emergency exit be when you're on the ground, where the aircraft is unpressurized?? Unless you want to use the exit at altitude....

Definition of "Emergency Exit" - Emergency exit provides a means of a rapid escape from a structure, in the event of an emergency evacuation.
If the door did not open fast, its just an "Exit".
-
can you try that while the plane is airborne? xD

There's also safety rope within the cavity of the overwing exit wall, which when removed can be attached to the wing when ditching.
It is basically a down and out action, and the exit is spring loaded.
Every crew member needs to learn and practice the procedure for opening the door on a real aircraft. This also includes opending the flight deck window and obviously the main exit doors.
On the 737 NG the overwing exit door are automcatically locked to prevent tampering when unpressurised.

Ok People this is wrong method. Why? Ok first this question has to answered by differances between A320s and B737s. In A320s the removal of cover flap on the overing elimunates the slide armed (white Light) between the two overwing which is not in Boeings. Why Arm light on the over wing. In A320s there is dual lane ramp slides which gets deployed once the overwing hatch is opened which is not in Boeing.
The Conclusion is there is no meaning of removing a coverflap on the boeing.
