Before signing with Def American Records and being given the name The Red Devils by producer Rick Rubin, Lester Butler's band was known as The Blue Shadows. They were featured in a showcase for new bands at something called The Colvin Convention (?), an event for radio and record companies in Los Angeles in 1991. This clip is from that performance.

No offense to either you or William Clarke but Lester sounds more like James Harman to me, although I can hear what you mean! I have read a Lester interview where he mentions Harman and somewhere here on YouTube he states that he's been going to Harman gigs for "half of his life".
I'm a fan of all three of the players I've mentioned and I have to say that I think James Harman would inspire any aspiring blues singer, player and songwriter.
Best wishes from the U.K.

The only harmonica player I knew who would not cause listening fatigue after 2 hours of harp playing. Very inventive, he played for keeps, every night, whether it was a packed or empty room. R.I.P.

It's remarkable how much the two passed blues giants: Lester and William Clarke sounded alike in their fluid, organic, unambiguous tone and phrasing. Bravo!
