3Ds max - Lotus tutorial

1- outline flower petal using line tool
2- connect up all the vertex & give it a petal shape
the way i did it is i selected the middle vertex s & changes it to smooth then bezier, all the rest of the vertex r corner bezier

3- add modifiers (surface, shell , uvw map) check if the coordinates r right

4- make 3 different petals (copy)

5- then copy the 3 differnt petals by rotating (make sure they r **instants**- that way u can tweak the materials n shape easily)

if its just the colors u can use a "gradient ramp" on the diffuse & a "uvw map" (modifier) on the petal

- to make it more realistic u might want to look into bumps, translucency & transparency. (check out the link in the description)

If u r working with mental ray i would suggest using "arch & design" material but thats only because im not too familiar with the other materials i used vray
