I want this book. On my X Mas list.

jack kennedy wasn't so much ahead of his time as he was a self-realized human being, on account of all his pain and suffering.

I read this book about a year ago and purchased it on line from tla.com. I had no idea that JFK had a "confirmed bachelor" friend......or what we now call gay. But it does not matter. The character, and pure respect , compassion and acceptance that was JFK shows that Lem's sexual orientation did not tarnish their relationship at all. Excellent reading!!!!! Great men !!!!!

Terrific book! Such a touching friendship, and so sad that it all had to end in so much tragedy.

Tremendous tribute; many thanks! JFK was the last great president;all of his successors were either puppets, liars, thieves, or murderers.

The lifelong friendship of Jack & Lem is a beautiful story on what true friendship/love/respect is all about! It tells you about the loyalty that Jack had for Lem--for Jack had taken a big risk with the friendship for Lem being a gay man could have caused Jack political problems.David Pitts captures the beauty and greatness of that friendship. We all should be as lucky as these 2 friends to have had such a friendship in our own lives. When Jack was killed Lem's life never was the same. So sad.
Thanks

not only is this video quite touching, the book "Jack and Lem" by David Pitts is excellent. It provides new insights into the remarkable man who was John kennedy, and also - surprisingly - makes you think about you think about your own friendships, and how you can achieve the same closeness Jack and Lem had
