@firestonemagic if you use the arm cross move you can actually make some really cool looking butterfly/crossing compound circles. It basically looks like a butterfly made of butterflies. You can also anti-spin it, and just about any poi move.

I just started practicing today for the very first time and this is the move that came the most natural to me amazingly after I couldn't keep my hands together. I actually have two variations ( I think I created?) a little different from this video.one you actually cross your arms and the other is some kind of ninja-antispin butterfly superfast. Thankyou for your tutorials, def. will try the one behind the back!

You really really need to get your firepoi out to help the three out of its misery

loving these videos, very helpful, tho still cant do reverse butterflys :o(
Also, I didn't say this in my comment below, but thanks for making a video with ways to modify what I can already do. It feels like I've picked up a whole new trick, and helps to stitch things together a bit better too.

Yeah, learning variations is a great way to spice up your poi twirling. They are usually far easier to learn than "proper" moves, and enable you to develop a greater degree of freedom and understanding of your poi.

The tree being in the way makes me think of spinning inside (it's summer here in the Uk, so since I finished exams, it hasn't stopped raining) and hitting the lampshade

hahaha, yeah. I've got a chandelier style light in my room that has been pretty damaged thanks to indoor poi. Outdoor twirling is better I find, the fresh air and the absolute freedom of having the sky above you makes poi twirling very enjoyable, even if it's cold, twirling warms me up...
