"Down Deep Inside" is the theme song from the 1977 film The Deep. The film's score was written by British composer John Barry and the lyrics to the main theme were added by disco singer Donna Summer. The track was released as a single and became a hit in some European countries, including the U.K. The film soundtrack LP also contained a slower tempo version of the song, and an extended version of the original later appeared on a CD version of Summer's 1978 Live and More album.

  • One of sexiest songs from the late 70's. Brings back great memories.

  • Just listening to the opening intro',those strings & I'm instantly transported back to the disco era of my teens! I get older,(51 in 3 weeks, yikes),but the music of Summer & all the other great vocalists will never age. It's how it should be.

  • Tout en douceur et sensualité ...

  • I love this theme

  • After thirty-four years, and after having grown into a dirty middle-aged lecher it is still embarrassing listening to Donna Summer make a complete ass of herself!!

And I still prefer the instrumental!

  • the best the best the best, classical......

Me recuerda cuando fui adolescente y fui a ver el estreno de la pelicula Alien el 8vo. pasajero y esta tema estaba de moda. que grandioso.

  • the best the best the best, classical......

  • Greatest disco song ever!!!! Its beautiful, its gorgous, its simply magic!!!!! I love Donna Summer and Im only 18!

  • Love the churning electronic background, the way she forces out the word "And" and tries to sing slightly flat before the word "Romance", the horror movie strings... Aaaaand of course her lascivious moaning. Classic.

  • I had just moved from Honolulu to NYC in the summer of 1977 and remember seeing this movie, I think it was at the ZEGFIELD theater on the westside. I actually had just come to NYC for a visit, fell in love and decided to stay. This changed my life totally and all the while Donna Summer and DISCO was with me. Memories I will have with me forever and ever.

  • Her Sexual Magical Voice and the Beautiful arrangement along with the beat of Disco. I never understood the Whole B G's It sure wasn't Disco I know their sound became so over played that people hated Disco when really they just got tired of the whole Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack. Funny as it really wasn't Disco That Sucked, it was the B G's Sound that Sucked Their Music was more Pop because their music was never fast enough
