@CattailsandRoses Hit the nail on the head there, mate. I can see how a million PF fans could be in love with this guy. This coming from a PF fan myself, I was a floyd fan first and now I am John Martyn fan. Discovered him through a musician friend of mine who linked me his video of "John Wayne". Also agree about the conduct during the interview. John didn't care about who thought what of him personally, nobody is stoned in this video.

I can see how tiresome it would be to conduct endless interviews about your art and how pleasant it would be to joke about with a pal during one of these dreary moments. I think it has to be marketing alone that explains how fine musicians who have 20 albums are still unknown. If he had more concert tours with fellow musicians like PF, PF fans would have embraced him. I myself never heard of him until I stumbled upon him on eMusic today.

Two musicians here who I love. I never could understand why John Martyn didn't sell tons of records. I think his music should have had a much broader appeal and more fans than it did.
