IMO the most bland darius games are the SNES ones.

it is. iirc, G-Darius is also a good bit faster in its compilation release (I forget which one). come to think of it, I think G-Darius has even less slowdown than the original arcade version

God, do I miss this game. I actually prefer the Saturn version, even though the Taito Legends game may in fact be more accurate. Truly an amazing game, and I have to say, this and G. Darius were the only games in this series worth owning. I had Darius II for both Mega Drive and Saturn, and have played the SFC/SNES games... and still, when it comes down to it, this and G. Darius are all that you'll need.
