Good vid, But never ever have a completely flat hammer face, this will cause severe vibrations and can cause the hammer to bounce off in random directions like a football or rugby ball. My dad is an engineer at a power station and one of his colleagues used a hammer like this for many years, he lost the blood supply to a small bone in his hand and now it is extremely painful for him to lift things and move his wrist, Its also an expensive and risky operation, so don't risk it

I never would have guessed that wooden handles were a bigger problem at transferring vibrations to the wrist than fiberglass. Thanks, good video!

Excellent tutorial, well done and clearly explained. The visual aids were a great addition. Having the japanese hammer, and the faux 100 pound hammer was hilarious! Nice job.
great point I said that it is not really flat if you want metal flat that you are hitting you use a flattener it is a top tool you place on a the metal and strike it with a hammer. a flattener is flat and can be used to take out the hammer marks.
