I wonder where those old hieroglyphs come in to play. Remember when Desmond used to have to punch a code into the computer every so often? When the timer hit 0, a bunch of hieroglyphs replaced it. Well, that giant statue was carrying an ankh, which is one of the hieroglyphs. Ankhs usually stand for eternal life, under the Egyptians. Hmm...

That's not the best theory.. In fact is in the Top 1 of the worst theories.. The origin of the statue is Egyptian, or at least that's is the best theory.. That's why it only has 4 toes.. And... Do you see the show? There are a LOT of egyptians stuff around the island..
