First time Barn Find after 30 years. The Main picture, film boat Thayer IV from the film "On Golden Pond" Hull number U22 1460 and the US Mail Boat Mariah, Century Raven. These boats are documented as the real deal.

This is NOT the boat at Sunrise. The boat at sunrise is the extra boat used in one scene, this boat is currently at Katzs Marina as is the mil boat. You can see them all restored in Mt Dora in March.

yes the hedricks owned both 1802 and the crash boat, thiese two boats were sold the day fonda died, and were in the same family for 28 years, untouched, down to the snaps on the hull, nothing changed from the film.. Its amazing, you shouold go visit Katzs they are great folks or come to tavares FLA and go for a ride..

From Wikipedia, "Thayer IV": "..One was a 1950 Chris-Craft Sportsman (U22-1460), bought by a family in 1982 from marine coordinator Pat Curtin as one of the boats used in the movie.[1][2] The other boat, also a Chris-Craft Sportsman (U22-1802), was sold in 1983 by the marine coordinator for the movie, Mr. Pat Curtin, as the boat which Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn used for their excursions on Golden Pond. The buyer of U22-1802 also purchased the replica used in the crash scene"

@easyriderzhd You may want to read Woody Boater, after a two year search, with Pat Curtin, we found these boats.This debate has been played out to insane proportions. The end result. 1460 is the main #1 picture boat. Its also documented by a legal document signed by Pat Curtin himself. There was also a scene by scene break down by Miklos Boats. 1460 is in every scene. 1802 was also used in one or two scenes. Note the sterring wheel, dash, bilge hole, and other small details.

There were 3 used.. The one they cut the floor out of to sink (now junked after a sand flea infestation) and 1802 (seen in the film) so maybe this is the 3rd..the stunt boat. 1802 is officially documented on the Chris Craft Registry and in documents from the late (film boat wrangler) Pat Curtin as being the screen-used star. I grew up 'On Golden Pond' (Big/Little Squam). Chris-Craft(dot)org/registry and in their search field enter Thayer IV. Could be Mariah though (??). Cheers.

These boats were purchased by the owner of Katz's Marina on Lake Hopatcong NJ. He is a wooden boat restoration specialist. They will be brought back to their former glory.
