Actually Von Erich had the belt for 21 days, not 10. But it was nice to hear Ric mention that He lost the title in Dallas. Later even refer to Kerry as a top contender. Though oddly not Magnum T. A. or Ted DiBiase. Wasn't Ted still the National Heavyweight champion at this time?
It was so different back then with all the territories. Flair would go all over the country and defend the title against all the best guys from the local promotions. He was the only guy who could do it at that time.
This was during Flairs best years as champ, he regularly wrestled 4-5 nights a week in 60 & 90 minute matches and made very regions top man look like he was within inches of winning the title from Flair..
