Gah! The "nightclub"... When it comes to racist stereotypes and ludicrous orientalism, hard to beat the early 20th century.
Sadly, we haven't really come very far.

@Genevieve1023 oh good.Glad to know that youngsters have common sense today. Please keep that up.

@calihartley2010 Yes, that was all three of our points.

@Genevieve1023 People who consider Rihanna classy have a trashy standard. That tells you how standards have declined.
-
@calihartley2010 I think @summersunt has a point. They had different standards in the 40's. The singer was probably considered as classy and talented back then as Rihanna is today.

Great song ! And those hats are so great! I want one.

@JonFrumTheFirst The roommate already knew that her friend was dead. She was hanging up the pictures. I am sure that the idea she could have been murdered would have already occured to her, so why would she stand still like an idiot?
-
@5429322 Somehow I think she looks better then you do.

The roommate has just been told that her friend has been murdered, and she immediately walks away from the detective. They do that a lot in both Christie series.
@summersunt No no no, you are insulting her by comparing her to Rhianna. She is much classier than that floozie

Poirot lived in the city and he enjoyed the style of 'art deco'. Even the building he lives in is the art deco archetecture. Miss Marple was more of a country lady, with her knitting, her vicarage, and her tea and scones.
