Good lord... what were the judges watching?! I could just about understand 5.7 or 5.8 for technical merit, their edges were never quite as clean as they could be free legs sometimes not quite matched etc, but 5.7 for artistic impression...c'mon!!

I have always loved this free dance!!! They were such a breath of fresh air!! I agree, dance took a step backwards when they retired after the '92 Olympics (really wanted them to win gold there).

Absolutely loved it. Superb originality and skated with genuine emotion and determination. Thought they took the mickey a bit with their OSP that year (feather boar and hat??) but I suppose that was their appeal.
They certainly changed the face of Ice Dance from 89-92. Then it took a backward step and everything became melodramatic and over the top emotionally. Thank goodness for Torvill & Deans far too brief return in 94.
