Just because she writes and records pop doesn't make her contribution to music any less valid. The other names you mention are just as valid. No one (credible) would say Mariah is more of a poet than Bob Dylan, but they would say she's more of a voice. That doesn't mean one is better than the other, although you may prefer one over the other.

i have Jimi H Bob D. and Louis A. in my music room, inside my house! so that's what i'm talking and referring to..people who made MUSIC hey try to listen to: never forget you, If it's over Live, Butterfly and Outside..but with ears and heart,.U'LL KNOW that she is/was in the same level ..oh yes u'll know in 10 years..cause..the rollling stones? ..well in time..yeah.
