Susan Wasinger demonstrates how to sew ruffled flowers from strips of recycled wool sweaters. These flowers adorn the evening clutch from her new book, Fabricate: 17 Innovative Sewing Projects that Make Fabric the Star (Interweave, April 2009). • You are BRILLIANT!!! Thank you for sharing this one!!! ♥Dig♥

  • So easy, didn't even have to write anything down.

  • Oh I can't wait to make these!

  • Hi, your video is really great nice and easy to understand with clear instructions. I can't wait to try this and have gathered up some old jumpers. My only problem is that I only have a washing machine and no dryer. How can I get round this? please advice me if possible. Thanks

  • you can make the tension loose, and the stitch length long and don't back stitch and sew along the gathering edge on your machine, then just gather it by hand. I'm lazy and don't want to hand sew if I don't have too. lol! Thanks for a great project! These will look adorable on the recycled longies and hair bows that I make! I think they would even be cute for embellishing shirts!

  • @angelofhell1338 I guess any stretchy fabric would do, not sure about felt though...
