This is a video showing you how to install the Gnome shell in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat (as the title says..)
Commands to enter in terminal:
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
export GNOME_SHELL_DISABLE_TFP=1 (if you have an intel graphics card.)
gnome-shell --replace (if you want to try it out, after logging out and back in again you will have to re execute this command. This command runs gnome-shell in terminal.)
sudo apt-get remove gnome-shell (Uninstall)

@ssiso8 There may have been some updates recently, but I suspect this is the newest version. Why do you ask?
