ive just finished 3 months with a cpap. while my sleep is better theres a concern which is "dry mouth" for us mouth breathers. its damaging to the gums. there's some gel that one can apply before bedtime that can help. consult your sleep therapist. save your gums!

I just finished a sleep study and will have to wear a mask. I'm looking forward to waking up refreshed and not wanting to pass out all the time. Sleep apnea over time can really mess you up ih8suvs. If you were sleeping soundly you might not move so much. I'd look into it...

CPAP is not a cure for OSA in the same sense that glasses are not a cure for bad vision. True, but it would be foolish not to get glasses because they are not a "cure". Particularly if other options were not nearly as effective.

I think I have this OSA. I sometimes wake up gasping for air, it scares the shit out of me. I don't think I could ever wear that thing when I sleep though. I move around a lot when I sleep, most of the time I sleep on my stomach.

I work with CPAP patients and I hear that a lot. You can sleep on your stomach with many of the masks available. Try asking for the ResMed Active LT mask or the Swift LT mask.

I get sleep apnea-like symptoms if I try to sleep on my back. My arms go numb also. So, I can only sleep on my stomach, with no pillow, on my right side. I recently got a dust mite mattress barrier cover, and that has cleared up a stuffy nose I've had for 20+ years. The dust mite pillow covers must help also. I also cleared out as much as possible from my bedroom, as maybe I was allergic to something. Got rid of the particle board furniture also, the formaldehyde in that can irritate you.
