The only difference now is we're in recession thanks in part to New Labour's policies, where as in 1997 we were not in one which was thanks to Torie's economic polices that helped this country and Labour when they got into office. I think he is doing it partly as a scorched earth policy for when the Tories get into government next year. Cameron's going to face an enormous headache when he becomes PM, with all that unemployment and debt that this country has now got thanks too New Labour. And so plan goes that Cameron's government collapses because this, and Mandelson or Mel-band becomes the PM after the next general election.
