@kinggilgamesh76 Yes, because most players have managed to play this game without continuing. The US and Asia boards have 2nd loops, whereas the Japan boards and Xbox360 versions do not loop.

@acidglow That's the Hell Diver. Though it is a bit slow than the Judge Spear, they're the best ships to use in terms of firepower.

Is it actually possible to finish this game with no continues? I have to use 1 continue on most stages and 3 or so on the large bosses

the raiden fighters games are definitely rad, and very fun to play if youre a SHMUP fan.
