  • Clearly pitchers need to practice dynamic balance, finish in an athletic position, and be ready to play defense. This video is a small clip of a much longer pitching clinic. The critical focus of this clip was highlighting the importance of lower body rotation, NOT PROPER FIELDING POSITION. There was no glove even in our hands to demonstrate where the glove should be at release. We've been at this for a long time - we understand the importance of protecting pitchers and fielding position.

  • A pitcher should land in an athletic position after follow through. The glove hand should never end up behind the back. What's a pitcher after release?? An infielder. He must end up in a position that allows him to field his area. And more imortantly, protect himself. Pretty tough to do with his glove in his back pocket.
