Final Fantasy XIII Soundtrack: Ascending

Originally this piece was called the "piano conversation", as it features two seperate piano parts "talking" with each other if u listen closely. the bassline is responding to the the treble sometimes and visa versa.(Silly, I know...:D), but i thought this would make a great final fantasy piece, so it was renamed ascending because it kind of makes me think of a long perilous journey the heroes must undergoe before they reach the climax of their journey.

this piece was very strange to compose at first, it introduces a new melody and countermelody every 4 measures and that pattern contines for about 2/3 of the song. Every melody changes key signatures as well to give the song more of "wandering" feeling, like you're moving on to the next obstacle. the bassline has a rising,falling action that symbolizes the ups and downs of the journey,while the treble guides the story.

Just thought I'd give u guys a little insight into how my mind works when i compose stuff. For some reason this is my favorite piece of all my works. Nomatter how many times I listen to it, it always takes me on a new journey. Well, enjoy the song and stay tuned for more soundtrack!
