Ok so you may or may not have noticed that I deleted all of my videos apart from the Ghetto Gospel series and my One Shot, well that's because I just need a fresh start on youtube and I just don't want the stress of having to finish old stories that I simply didn't like, I wasn't gonna come back to youtube at all but I've decided that writing is the only way for me to really express myself and I love it however I just needed to clear out my page and start brand new and fresh stories. -Demetria's POV-
I woke up as usual to the sound of my maid Lillian yapping away to me before I had even regained consciousness. I sat up in my bed to see her pulling a brand new corset out of a box on my desk and blabbering on about my stupid engagement ball tonight.
Lillian-do you like it?
She held up the dress to me
Lillian-your mother had it specially made for you all the way from London!
Demetria- It's gorgeous... If only the event in which it was made for was a little bit more appealing then everything would be great...
Lillian- but miss, this is your engagement ball! Surly you should be excited! Everyone is coming to see you and congratulate you on this great occasion!
Demetria- congratulations for being forced to marry a man whom I only met 4 days ago?
Lillian-but you said yes
Demetria-only because I was told to. Apparently I am getting too old not to start a family of my own
Lillian-oh I can just see the children now! They're going to be gorgeous!
Demetria-children honestly are not my top priority. Especially with that man, he disgusts me! Even the thought of it gives me chills
Lillian-but miss, mister Lamete (A/N thats supposed to sound French but I forget how to do an accent on the last E) is an honourable and wealthy man, most women would jump at the chance to marry him
Demetria-wealthy does not lower my level of detest. For I have had money my entire life and it has never done much for me. I would much rather be a free woman, free to fall in love with whomever I please and at least be a little over the age of 17 when I do
Demetria-you do not love him?
Demetria-how could I possibly? I know him not a week and already his arrogance makes me want to spit. The man is 31 years of age and has himself 3 mistresses at his feet. Why I would rather marry a pirate!
Lillian- it's best not to say that again miss
Demetria-why not? It's true. That's how much this whole thing disgusts me, that a pirate would seem even more appealing
Lillian-you know how your father is about piracy, if he heard you say something like that he would fly off the walls
Demetria-well then don't say it to him and we'll be fine wont we
Lillian-come on miss, you must get dressed and head downstairs. Your mother wants you to rehearse your engagement speech before noon.
Demetria-what am I to wear?
Lillian-a dress from your closet for now, we shant but on your new corset until before the ball so that it feels extra special.
I got up and Lillian pulled a purple dress from my closet, she helped me to put it on then did my hair before I made my way down the stairs to speak with my mother
DM-oh Demetria, there you are. I must day you took your time! You must start to rise earlier in future.
Demetria-sorry mother
DM-not to worry, now have you written your speech?
She turned and started to walk into the parlour and I followed behind her
Demetria-not yet
DM-Demetria! Do you ever listen? I asked you to write it last night! We haven't got time for this... Well I suppose let's not waste more time dwelling on your disobedience; you are going to be made a bride this time next month and off to live your own life! Oh how time flies, it's so hard to believe isn't it?
She picked up a sheet of paper and a quill and put them down on the desk, pulling out the chair for me
DM-there, sit down. We must not waste any more time, today is already going to be a hectic day without all of this going on. It's just adding to my schedule where there is no more room left! I'm not super woman you know!
