The Russians learnt the same thing as well in the afgan war.

EXACTLY I agree -- and that is exactly what will happen again in the event of a war agaist china (only 10 times worse)

Why the Americans dont understands is that military victories dont win wars.

The Americans can win the battle but still lose the war

The Vietnam army took advantage of the American will to fight. Despite constant military victories and low casualties the American public were not willing to tolerate the war.

Assuming the war stayed conventional all the U.S. would need to do to cripple China would be to blockade the Chinese ports and starve em. Chinese naval capabilities are near worthless.

Korea was a clear victory for the U.S.

The northern invasion was pushed back and the war ended exactly where it began. I was not aware that the defender loses when the war ends with the defender controlling the exact same amount of territory?
