Written in 1993, David Hollinden's Surface Tension is a work that melds the scholarly aspects of classical percussion writing with the excitement and aggressive attitude of rock and jazz drumming.

Formed in 2010, the ImPromp2 Percussion Duo features members Matt Tidwell and Drew Daniels, both natives of Tennessee and recent graduates of Tennessee Technological University. The Duo is actively engaged in educating percussionists in regional primary and secondary schools, as well as pursuing individual performing careers. Part scholars/part adventurers, the Duo seeks not only to commission and create new works for the repertoire, but to revitalize standard literature for percussion duo.
