this is a story 'bout Lacey the tiger
and her friend Jimmy the lion
One day they went to the landlord's apartment
they had to go and pay the rent
they knocked on the door of the landlord's apartment
and this is what he said
die lion
then he shot that lion, dead
this is a story 'bout Lacey the tiger
it's not just singin and havin a time
Jimmy went with her down to the landlord's
and got shot for being a lion
oh no oh why oh no why
would you do that to him
he was good he wasn't hurtin nobody
he was a lion but he was my friend
said you know the laws
never should have set his paws, here
it was true Lacey should have known better
but it was Jimmy's fault that he was dead
cuz it's written down to the letter
if you're a lion your blood is on your own head
so Lacey went back to her apartment
after paying her rent
she opened up that apartment handbook
and this is what she read
do not lie with a lion
as one lies with a tiger cuz that's bad
and if you see a lion
they must be put to death cuz they are bad
and Lacey saw nothing wrong with this
cuz Lacey is an idiot
and whoever wrote that apartment handbook
was just ignorant and bigoted
so don't follow rule books or listen to lords
think for yourself cuz you can't afford
to be as stupid as Lacey who went back to her apartment
got drunk on red wine and choked on her own vomit
and then she died

Why people listen to rule books like they are never flawed is beyond me. I had teachers who thought that school books where always right, but now that I'm older and have worked in making curriculum, I know better. Don't always listen to the rule books. They are just a tool and can be very wrong.

I had so many ignorant teachers. I remember learning about Brontosaurus after they discovered it wasn't real and having to tell my elementary school teacher about it.

@seriouslymatsteele Yeah, it's hard changing public opinion about something that seems like common sense to them. I can bet they didn't believe you. I'm more of a math person and tended to latch on to the very obvious flaws that the math teachers tried to teach everyone. I ended up teaching geometry for some of the semester in high school because they put the P.E. teacher to teach the class. I helped with statistics in College. The teacher was like "if you think you know then teach it" so I did.

Ha! Nice. It doesn't say a lot for the school system, but it says a lot for you. I wish I was good at math. Most of my favourite sciences are based in math.

Too bad for Lacey the Lion. If she was feeling suicidal after the death of Jimmie the Lion, She should have kept the rent money to get some really killer drugs to OD on. :D

Ha, no, Lacey's death was accidental. But it was also because she's so stupid.

Life In The Fast Lane? Could be in there, but I wouldn't know cuz I don't know the song.

Don't get me wrong, the statistics professor knew her stuff, but she hadn't been a teacher long. I had to kind of make it easier for the class. It was fun. Well, I wish I was better and chemistry. I kind of suck at what chemicals to what, but if you put out the formula, I can kick ass on that.
