Thomas Hardy's Ale 2008, bottle No.38762 Brewed by O'Hanlons brewing Co, Whimple, Devon, England

A remarkable brew! Britains strongest ale (apparently)
The company has no website unfortunately but you can find out more about the ale at:

  • I think I made a video of this stuff but it certainly pushed the limits of my taste but was some AWSOME stuff. Loved your review man, and glad you liked it.

  • Thanks for all your kind words fish brew. Yea this beer is very strong indeed. I've got a bottle of Fullers Vintage Ale from 2006 that i want to review eventually. Should be interesting to see how these strong barley win/old ale styles age. They are suppose to keep maturing in the bottle.

I'll have to check your review of this. Cheers

  • You are absolutely killing me. ha-ha. I put this on my beer list right at the top. The way you describe this brew I have to have it. Your knowledge on the history of these brews is great. I hope I can find it and give it a try. Really looking forward to it.

  • its a real treat, strong though! lol. Id love to try cellaring some for a few years and see how they mature!

Thanks man, i try my best. I'm no way near as good as Zak Avery though. You should check his reviews as well. Hes like a pro!

    Thanks for watching!!

  • good info, never heard of this beer however I'll keep an eye out for it

  • Thanks, yea its sort of an unusual one to find. Fortunately my local shop stocks it! Worth a try if you can find it!

    Thanks for watching.

  • nice video, I got some made in 2004 sitting in my closet, will let ya know how it tastes in about 15 years :)

  • CHARLIE SHEEN!!!

  • This stuff is like pancake syrup in regards to it's body. Sweet caramel, dark fruits and molasses.

  • Yes, it really is something special. I know what you mean about having the patients to wait though! I have a 2006 Fullers Vintage ale, but thats about as old as my stuff gets right now. Its kinda hard to find good storage space when you live in an apartment. Thanks for watching.

  • From your discription, that sounds like a really good beer. I've been getting into beer cellaring recently. I've just put away two 750ml bottles of Chimay Grande Reserve (Chimay Blue), and hope to add a few more different types to my collection. I don't know if I could stand to wait anymore than five or so years before cracking them open however.:)
