Zombie Master predates Left4Dead by somewhere around 2-3 years. The concept is roughly the same, with a number of key changes:

- There can obviously be a lot more people on a server than just four survivors.

- There are no "boss" zombies; there are, however, five Zombie "types": Shambler, Drifter, Banshee, Immolator and Hulk.

- Whereas Left4Dead has the "AI Director" that intelligently monitors players and spawns zombies according to their stress level, Zombie Master has a human player who views the map from an overhead perspective (like an RTS) who spawns zombies and controls special map events.

With the right group of people and a good map, it can be an incredibly good time.

@yusefwii (Sorry about that last response, didn't read correctly). Unfortunately, you need Half-Life 2 to play these games. The good news is, Half-Life 2 is like $10 at this point. You may need the other Half-Life 2 episodes, but even then, "The Orange Box" is only like $20.

@yusefwii You seriously don't want Half-Life 2, a game that has won more than 39 "Game of the Year" awards? It's in the Guiness Book of World Records for being one of the highest rated shooters of all time, and in 2010, a user poll in PC Gamer magazine awarded Half-Life 2 the title of "best game of all time". It's $10. People spend more than that on lunch for one day. Don't be cheap.
