WHat about the skirt wearing out---sand is abrasive!

Good point - we fit polyurethane / nylon weave skirts 375 gsm which are extremely tough and withstand abrasions and are impossible to rip by hand - many manufacturers fit either hypalon which tears easily or neoprene coated nylon which suffers from UV degradation. Life expectancy for the Hov Pod skirts are 3 years or more, and they are segmented, so just change the section that needs replacement, not the whole skirt - keeps costs low.

Sand is abrasive, also tarmac, concrete slipways and ice. We used to use neoprene coated nylon, but that teared easily and suffered from UV degradation. We used Hypalon, but that also teared. We now use 375 gsm polyurethane / nylon weave which is specially made for us. The Hov Pod has 65 different sections of skirt, so if one does get damaged, you simiply change one section. Our skirts now last 3 years or more, they are impossible to rip by hand.
