Once every five years the little town of Garachico on Tenerife's north west coast commemorates the night in 1706 when Arenas Negras volcano erupted and engulfed the town in burning lava.
The cliffs above the beach are set alight and balls of fire are rained down the cliffside. It's all rounded off with a spectacular display of fireworks set to classical music.
Somewhere in the region of 35,000 people witness the night Garachico burns.
