@GreenCardProductions Full Sail is a great school but my advice will depend on your program. I did film/video production so I can say, after working with students at other schools, you won't get a more in depth and hands on learning experience anywhere else. You must apply yourself as grades are made in classrooms and careers are made on set. Do good in the classroom, but do more outside of it.

I'm going to be talking the film production program. In that, do they tell you how to get into the industry and start finding work as a director?

@SkepticalMetalArts - They will tell you to work your way up. Not to say you can't be a director right out of school but first you will have to start doing your own things directing and someone will eventually notice you if you are good enough. They will give you every opportunity to succeed though and are always willing to help if you are willing to put in the effort.

@ajax0530 Oh, and in the catalog, I saw that your final project is screened in front of not just family members and classmates, but industry professionals, is that true?

@SkepticalMetalArts - Steven Spielberg isn't going to come and watch student films. Things may have changed since I have been there and they might have local guys come to it. As you advance in the program you will meet greater industry professionals that work with the school. A guy named James, in the "FINAL PROJECT" course, was the Director of Photography on the Hubble 3D movie that came out fairly recently. He has worked with IMAX and stuff and he is for sure there.

I'm going for film, I need some advice on how to take care of the finances of living there and going to school.

@GreenCardProductions, register with the housing department and they can send you a list of people that will also be starting on the same date as you and what program they are in as well as if they drink, smoke, how clean they keep their area and stuff like that (although all is self graded by them). They will also help you find housing. I lived at the Harbor at Lake Howell and it was great. About 3 miles north on Semoran Blvd from the school.
