This video footage was taken as I was walking down Las Vegas Blvd in May of 2006, trying to capture a bit of the famous vegas lights with my camera.
As I was walking across the bridge from NYNY to MGM I noticed a concert or something going on in front of the Tropicana. Over the next few minutes I heard the band play the same song over and over. Upon closer examination I noticed a video shoots of some sort was going on and this wasn't just a sound check I was hearing.
I decided to go over and see what all the hype was about as I could hear the loud crowd each and every time the song ended. As it turns out, the band Rascal Flatts was taping a segment for the CMA's, which later became the video for the single "Me And My Gang."
I don't listen to country music so I wasn't familiar with the band, even though I found out later that two of the members are from the city I live in (Columbus, Ohio).
The band is huge! I am glad I shot this small bit of footage as I know a lot of fans might really like to see a kind of behind the scenes look at the video shoot. Sorry for the lack of a stable non-cut shot. I was just kind of passing through and didn't stick around long enough to get any quality video.
Small world indeed.

Are you really? From Dyersville (I think that is the name of the town). Seeing that video was pretty strange considering I hadn't been able to see it on a music channel or online at that point.

Yep. There are two gift shops at the baseball / farm movie site and one of them had a TV on playing the finished product of what I taped above.
