CV Joint: found in the front diff on Patrols, there is 1 on each steering swivel joint, they are designed to maintain a non-pulsating axle speed (unlike universal joints) when the wheels are turned, its basicaly a ball and socket with small balls on a groove between the knukle and soket that engage the drive. If 1 of these breaks the front differential will be giving all drive to the broken joint unless u have a diff locker to use the other wheel. When your offroading this will be very annoying.

a CV is a Constant Velocity Joint.
If you break one in a 4wd you have to go home.
It's expensive and takes awhile to fix..
Most newer cars have a CV in the drive train.
they are like a universal joint covered in grease and most have a rubber boot cover.
CV's get broken on 4wd's because people raise their suspension and stuff around with angles of geometry. Then they break.

fuck oath land rovers always break shit. they should come from the factory with a caravan so you have some where to sleep when they shit themselves!!!!lol
