Meet Astronomo; My new horse

7 year old gelding by Galileo, had 34 starts for 4 wins, 4 2nds and 2 3rds making a total of $56,405. Last race was 9th of December 2011.
This is my new baby, a directly off the track gelding. He will be my new project, eventually to train and sell as a competition horse, retired completely sound and injury free. He is just one of the lucky ones that will be retrained and re homed, so many ex racehorses are not so lucky. I will keep you updated with his progress and complete retraining process, through the good and the bad.

Hi,

I strapped Astro from when he was broken in- through his races in Vic until he was sold, I miss him still!

I just thought I'd let you know he did have a tie back operation when he was 3.

@hellzbelle666 Oh wow, I didn't know that but he kept racing until he was 7 so it musnt of affected him to much. That might be why he has a strange sounding voice though, or it could just be him haha. He is a gorgeous boy, has the best temperment. He is currently lame (fell in a hole whilst chasing his sheep haha) but I can't wait to ride him, He is loving a well earned spell though
