  • wow... awesome engine but it basically sounds like a honda civic type r

  • thanks - bear in mind this is recorded on a small digital camera, inside a dyno cell and then compressed to post on the internet... Hopefully you can enjoy hearing it in real life one day and you might change your mind!

  • @simonlongdill if you could i would take two Honda Civic SI K20Z3 engines and make a 400 HP flat plane V8, I build a Supercar for that engine Like a Super Lotus Elise. I have been in a Civic Si and it sounds like a F1 car!

  • @super00su our 2400cc engines already make over 400hp, we have some 2950cc engines underway now.

hmm, I do already have some designs for a Honda F20 V8, 4000cc and around 550hp to start with. looking for a customer for it in order to manufacture.. :-)

  • flat plane is just fucking amazing..wow

  • This is a motor used in speedcars (midgets)NZ built, from memory.Cool engine!

  • sounds like a crowd cheering at the end lol

  • @Super73VW Yup, the flat-plane crank came before the cross-plane crank V8.

  • @marek0086 Because it is odd-firing.

  • GT5 x1 top speed 828 km/h 590 mph 2fast4U

  • @simonlongdill What kind of torque does that 2400cc engine output? And what about the 4000cc?

  • Looks like two Kawasaki ZX12R top ends on eight 12R rods and a bespoke crank and case -- it even retains the 12R's valve covers with blocked-off EGR ports. The bike valvetrain is mostly why it can rev this high so easily, since the donor bike has a redline a good margin above this test.

For those not familiar with 'why flat crank'... flat cranks allow for much easier ignition timing and exhaust scavenging.

Nice work. Hope it finds a home in a customer chassis soon.;)

  • My ears just blew a load
