I got to ride this back in 1991 from Vancouver to Prince George and return. The first 150 miles or so is like being in the Swiss Alps with the snow-capped mountains. Then the 50 or so miles from Lilooet to "Hilltop" it's like being in the Grand Canyon, then from there to Prince Goerge is all
pine trees, ranches, and pulp mills. THE most scenic train ride I had in my whole life. Shame they got rid of it.

I live pretty close to the old train station. I walk by it sometimes when I'm walking my dog. They should turn it into a museum. That's not likely going to happen though.

Ok thanks, i lived in vancouver since january 2002:)

Its too bad that this train doesn't run anymore. Its a great connection between Prince George and Vancouver. Beats taking the bus or having to fly.

Is this the starlight dinner train.
Does it exist anymore.

the dinner train had stopped by then and a few days later in October 2002 all BC rail passenger services stopped except for a short section using small railmotors out of Liloett area. CN I think now run some tours over the route or are thinking about doing some.
