This song makes me cry as I think about the young man I grew up with and he was killed in Vietnam nam at age 19 in 1970

What a touching song! It would be great if someone could post Gary Puckett singing "Reverend Posey" again. That was a wonderful song but looks like the post was removed.

WARS we tried to warn all out there thru all these years....but the powers to be has always an excuse and the media to push the idea of killing humans a rightfull thing to do. just shows how foolish war really is?
This was a great song for a terrible war. We lost too many of our boys there for nothing. Let's hope at least when our boys come back from Iraq they do not get shafted like the Vietnam veterans did.

I fought in the war that this song was written for. A war we could have won but did not. 58,000 of my Brothers and Sisters died for nothing. Not to mention how many came back as nothing more than "broken down wrecks". A war that I still fight every day of my life. I have no peace in my soul.
In spite of that, stooges like Obama and his cast of mindless idiots, will never take away the pride that I have in my heart for my country. I am so very, very proud to be an American. JMR
