I tried uploading this with the SNL video showing, but YouTube has a filter that recognizes the encode as property of NBC Universal. While I am truly impressed with their technology, unfortunately that leaves you with nothing to watch but the subtitles. Oh well, the video didn't sync up with the audio perfectly anyway. Now you can concentrate solely on my unpolished audio and video editing skills.
By the way, if you'd like to record a better version of the lyrics (and have an actual Japanese person sing them), feel free. I just made this because my friend repeatedly made me watch the original video and I thought he and his girlfriend might get a kick out of a Japanese version. I didn't have the lyrics checked by a Japanese person, so if there are errors, feel free to correct them.
Oh, and for learners of Japanese, here's a fun fact I learned while writing the lyrics: the Japanese phrase meaning "the apple of one's eye" is quite literally "the ball(s) in my palm". While "ball" could be translated as "jewel", I will conveniently ignore that possibility.
If you want to see the lyrics in Japanese or Romaji, just click the arrow in the lower right corner of the video and mess with the "closed captions".
