This is the finish of the 1994 Goody's 250 from Bristol. The race was finishing under caution and Mark Martin was leading David Green as they took the caution and white flag at the same time. Mark thinks the race is over and drives off the track and down to the garage towards victory lane, that turned out to be an oops. David Green takes the checkerd flag and grabs his second career victory.

thanks to fastcat for the capture:D

  • a lot of people celebrating at 3:20 :D

  • FUCK THE 5

  • @sportsguruisme Ned Jarrett said that.

  • @cougarlover1 And that's the way it should be. Burnouts are indeed stupid.

  • Oop, accidentally hit send when I didn't want to

It started in the mid-90's in Indy Car, when after every Alex Zinardi win, he would do burnouts. The practice then made it's way to NASCAR, especially with the younger drivers

  • @metalupyourthrash

The whole burnout thing actually started in Indy Car in the mid 90's,

  • @MidniteHaze1 Back then nobody did burnouts after wins. Maybe a donut or two or (most) just pulled into victory lane. Kevin Harvick started the burnout thing. It was kinda like Carl Edwards back flip now. It was just Harvicks thing until everyone started doing it.

  • @bandman232, why do you hate Martin? He is the classiest driver around who never says a bad thing about anybody. Everyone makes mistakes.

  • @MidniteHaze1 Martin never does a burnout, he thinks it is stupid and a waste of equipment. He has made it publicly known.

  • Umm, who goes to pit road after a win? Burnout? No?
