This demonstration is about surface tension of water. Usually metal needles sink into water because they have higher density than that of water. However, when it is put horizontally, the pressure exerted by the neeble is weaker than the surface tension, so it can float. It can be proved by adding surfactant to water to make the needle sink.

  • god thats cool nice work :)

  • very cool, i can see that the forces involved in surface tension on the water's surface is much stronger than the force of gravity until the soap breaks that surface tension, very interesting.

  • *kind.

  • What Lind of experiment is that?! I can do better with a pot of boiling water!

  • hahahahaha very funny you idiot boy-girl-man-woman i thought it was floating at the air but it is floating in a water. your video is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
